Summary
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Why Wait?
I absolutely ADORED Perkins' debut title, Anna and the French Kiss, which I reviewed here. I have heard nothing but stellar things about Lola. In fact, for a sneak peek--hunt down a paperback copy of AatFK because it has the first chapter of Lola in the back!! If chapter one is any indication, I know I will have mad love for this book. It's also got hints of Steph herself in it.

Oh, and remember that time Stephanie Perkins came to OUR library? Makes me happy, happy, happy :)

Also, Stephanie Perkins will be Austin Teen Book Festival on October 1st in Austin, Texas too!

  1. The cameos of St. Clair and Anna are clever. They fit right in and are just so fun as usual. It was really nice to see their relationship after we saw the start, which doesn't happen too often.

Lola and the Boy Next Door is a witty read that will leave you laughing, tearing up, and just plain old swooning. I just overal love everything about this book and Stephanie's writing.
